Chromatin factors are crucial for many biological processes. The projects in Zhou's Lab aim for understanding how chromatin factors read and affect the chromatin structure epigenetically. Our lab will focus on the biochemical and biophysical characterizations of key complexes involving both chromatin factors and chromatin. By using single particle cryoEM, we'd obtain high-resolution structures of those important complexes. Through collaborations in vivo studies, we will leverage our in vitro tools to gain deep insights into the fundamental mechanisms on how chromatin factors regulate genome structure.

Available positions:

PhD candidate (2-3)

The successful candidate will be extensively trained on biochemistry and structural biology.

Requirements:

1. received or about to receive the Bachelor degree or Master degree in life science

2. excellent in English speaking and writting

3. meet the admission requirements from the school of biomedical sciences (https://gradsch.hku.hk/gradsch/faq)

3. experienced in molecular clonning, expertise in protein purification or single particle cryoEM is preferred

4. collaborative and self-motivated
